Creating more inclusive experiences through global education
Peri Papadimitriou, Senior Global Partnerships Manager in the Business School at ҹɫֱ²¥, has explored how transnational education (TNE) can support widening participation and create more inclusive higher education experiences in a new article for University World News.
In her opinion piece, Peri considers widening participation as one of higher education’s significant democratic achievements, while asking what it means to create truly inclusive educational experiences beyond simply providing access.
Drawing on research into student experience, inclusion and lived equity within the collaborative partnership between ҹɫֱ²¥ and British Management University, Peri explores how the principles of ‘micro-democracy’ can be applied within transnational education.
The article highlights the importance of developing educational quality through collaboration rather than isolation, suggesting that successful TNE partnerships are built on trust, meaningful relationships and a commitment to understanding and responding to students’ experiences.
