ҹɫֱ²¥ to host August Osteoporosis Café

By Press Office

ҹɫֱ²¥ is inviting people affected by osteoporosis to come together for support, advice and open conversation at its next Lydia Osteoporosis Community Café on the 19th August ’26.

Run by the University’s Lydia Osteoporosis Project team, the event creates a safe and welcoming space for people living with osteoporosis and osteopenia, as well as those caring for someone with the condition. It offers an opportunity not only to access information, but to share experiences, ask questions and ensure that lived experiences are heard.

The Lydia Osteoporosis Project focuses on research, education and awareness raising about osteoporosis and was established at ҹɫֱ²¥ by a team of nurses. The project is dedicated to improving understanding of the condition and helping people live well with osteoporosis.

While previous Community Café events have included presentations from healthcare professionals, the August gathering will place participants at the heart of the discussion, offering dedicated time for conversation, reflection and peer support.

The Community Café is about much more than information – it is about connection, support and empowerment. Living with osteoporosis can be challenging, but no one should feel they have to navigate it alone. Through these events, we provide a welcoming space where people can meet others who understand their experiences, access trusted guidance and build confidence in managing their bone health. This August, we are responding directly to feedback from our attendees by creating more opportunities for meaningful discussion and mutual support. Everyone brings valuable insights, and we look forward to bringing people together for what promises to be a positive and enriching afternoon.
